The main theme of this amazing movie is that because the "justice system" IS the main customer [along with the church] for pedophilia, then the only route to justice is vigilante, as we saw with Roy.
But CAN Roy get away with his revenge by faking a shrink type gig?
The secondary theme is just HOW stupid are lawyers, weighed down by their huge egos?
But it seems, fishing trip or not, from the various forums that J Doe watching the movie is no smarter than the blood sucking lawyers depicted here.
The punch line at end is "no Marty, there never was an Aaron", after Marty STILL does not understand how Roy managed the whole legal circus to get himself virtually acquitted a month after the trial.
Marty blurts out "so there never was a Roy?" STILL not understanding what happened in court but his ego thinking it was HIM that made the day.
So Marty had tried to "incite Roy" as he saw it by being a hero and holding the mike and calling Roy a pussie, while Roy had already worked out exactly when he had to morph from Aaron to Roy.
All did work out fine and as Marty heads down to cells after the judgment he STILL thinks it was HE that carried the day, ie he still has not twigged that Roy does not have any shrink type MPD or whatever but is simply toggling 2 people when HE decides to toggle.
